The FiberTech Patch provides a quick, easy and effective solution to all your maintenance and repair problems. There is no sealing, mixing or brushing needed, simply peel off the backing paper and press it firmly on to the damaged surface. The Patch will bond to almost any clean dry surface such as wood, metal, fibreglass, concrete, glass and most plastics.

The Patch is soft and pliable and will mould to virtually any shape. It cures on exposure to UV Light (Daylight) and the typical cure times range from 10 minutes to one hour depending on the intensity of the UV exposure.

Once the product has hardened, it provides a permanent repair as it is heat resistant, tough, and waterproof and can be drilled, sanded and painted if required.

Technical description

FiberTech‚ is an ultra violet (UV) light curable Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) material, manufactured in sheet form. The matrix of isopthalic resin, e-type glass reinforcement, inert fillers and a photo-initiator is sandwiched between 2 nylon films. A further black UV film provides for handling in daylight.

FiberTech‚ is a special low styrene formulation polyester which contains approximately one third of the usual two component liquid polyester resins. The nylon films which minimize emissions and facilitate handling and shaping, can be marked out when transferring templates.

When fully cured all styrene emissions cease, unlike conventional resins where emissions continue for a considerable time. FiberTech‚ minimizes the risk of tainting and containment vessels can be returned to production quickly. Similarly, little heat is generated by FiberTech‚ whereas the strong exotherm of conventional resins can create problems with shrinkage. Due to the easier and safer handling, high tensile strength, minimal shrinkage, high resistance against UV degradation, FiberTech‚ is the preferred GRP solution for many organizations.

FiberTech‚ is manufactured under strictly controlled factory conditions. The resins and fibres used are in compliance with British Standards in respect of water potability, mechanical properties and durability.

The FiberTech Patch is available in three sizes and comes complete with adhesive laminate. Storage is recommended out of direct sunlight below 30degC with a nominal 12 months' storage time.

Technical data

FiberTech has been vigorously tested at approved test centres and universities in Scotland, Wales and England and also in North America, Japan and Australia. FiberTech has also achieved new WRc approval for water potability and has been tested by Thatcham for use in the Automotive repair market.
